Does Doctrine Matter

“Doctrine” seems like such an old-fashioned concept. What is it, and why do we need to be concerned with it? “Simon Peter answered Him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.’” John 6:68 (English Standard Version)

How Jesus Responded

How a person responds to others reveals much about who they are. How did Jesus respond to others while on earth? “And when the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, ‘Do not weep.’” Luke 7:13 (English Standard Version)

Is Hell Real?

The idea of Hell is so awful; this is surely not a part of Christianity we must accept – is it? “And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Matthew 25:46 (English Standard Version)

The Church In Eternity

When time comes to an end, will God be finished with the church?  The Bible shows that our role will continue into eternity. “If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.” 1 Corinthians 15:19 (English Standard Version)

The Church In The Last Days

The “last days” actually refers to the entire time of the church of Christ.  What is expected of the church? “But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty.” 2 Timothy 3:1 (English Standard Version)

The Church In Prophecy

The Lord’s church is not a last-minute substitute for an earthly kingdom; prophecies in the Old Testament make this clear. “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.” Psalm 118:22 (English Standard Version)

A New View Of Possessions

As Jesus works to make “all things new” in the lives of His people, their view of material goods must change. “Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.” Proverbs 22:9 (English Standard Version)
