Remember These In Prayer:

Courtney Valentine, who underwent surgery last Wednesday, came down with the flu less than 48 hours afterward.  She has been feeling very rough, especially with her coughing, as she continues to heal from her surgery.  She would appreciate our prayers for healing and relief.

Michael Heim, son-in-law of Sheila and David Frakes, is undergoing tests following a recent episode of kidney stones.  Our prayers for all to turn out well have been requested.

Karen Stevens remains at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville where she is being treated for cancer that was found earlier this month.  She has not yet had the skin graft surgery; that may possibly happen today.  Her daughter Anna Eller reports that “she is just taking it easy, working with PT and OT, eating good and feeling pretty good.”

Butch Holder, father of Heidi Elliott, came through his surgery on Tuesday in Greenville, South Carolina.  His surgeon said that things went better than expected, and advised Heidi that “prayers work … keep praying”.  Heidi sends her thanks for all of the prayers that have been offered for her father.

Jordan Simerly is in Texas this week to consult with specialists about his recent diagnosis of lymphoma.  Pray for God’s wisdom to guide all that is done this week.

Mary Lou Cooper will soon meet with specialists after learning that her recent biopsies of lymph nodes had cancer cells.  Ask the Lord to bless our sister with the most effective approaches to dealing with this situation.

Kim Bacon, sister-in-law to Jerry Bacon, suffered a heart attack on Friday and underwent a heart cath on Saturday.  She was discharged, but then readmitted to the hospital on Monday with the same issues.  A second heart cath is planned for today.  Charla asks that we pray for all to go well for Kim.

Jean Thompson, sister of Jan Bennett, underwent an outpatient surgical procedure on Monday morning, and all went well.  Jan asks that we pray for her complete recovery, and that the results of the tests will be good.  Jean is recovering at her home.

Carl Cornett, a member of the Northeast Church of Christ who is known to several here at Central, is in ICU at Mountain Home VA Medical Center.  He is being treated for pneumonia and recovering from major surgery.

The family of Tonya Hill, cousin of Becky Blacklidge, is mourning her passing earlier this week.  She had been treated for the past couple of years for bile duct cancer.  Pray for God’s comfort to be upon all of the family.

The family of Lexie Jean Waggener, aunt of Jenny Usher, is mourning her passing on Monday in Franklin, Tennessee.  You may view her obituary by clicking here.

Encouragement Available: If you could use some encouragement and spiritual strength, come join us this evening at 7:00 for Bible study.  Many from your Central family will be present, and you will surely leave feeling stronger than when you came.

A New Birth!  On Tuesday morning Sunny Day Torgerson made her entrance into the world weighing 7 pounds, 14 ounces, and measuring 20 inches long.  She is the second daughter of Abbi and David Torgerson, joining big sister Etta.  Sunny is also the granddaughter of Kathy and Dave Torgerson, and will be lovingly watched over by her Aunt Joanna.  Congratulations!  Due to the prevalence of seasonal illnesses, it is suggested that there be no visitors.

Ladies Day 2020: Last year’s Ladies Day was such a great success that another is being planned for Saturday, April 4.  A planning meeting will be held this evening after Bible study in the downstairs fellowship area.  Any ladies who would like to help are welcome to attend.

Greetings: Fred & Georgie Roten sent their greetings on Tuesday to their Central family.  They are traveling in a warmer climate for a time, and say they are doing well.  Fred wrote, “We do miss everyone at home, and our beloved church family. Keep these two old folks in your thoughts and prayers.”

What Am I?  *  “The things that we love tell us what we are.”  (Thomas Aquinas)  *  “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.”  (1 John 2:15,16)
