“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”  James 4:8

Daily Bible Reading: John 19:1-42 (“When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, ‘It is finished,’ and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.”)

This Week’s Memory Verse:Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.”  (Hebrews 7:25)

Remember These In Prayer:

Courtney Valentine is scheduled to undergo surgery early this morning.  She asks that we pray for all to go well.

Karen Stevens remains at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville.  A visit on Tuesday evening found her feeling tired, but doing well.  She will have two half-doses of directed radiation to treat spots that were found, and will soon have skin graft surgery.  She asked that we send you her thanks for all of your prayers and displays of love and concern.  She will be hospitalized for a few more days; she is in room 801.

Mary Lou Cooper continues to recover from surgery last week to determine whether any cancer remains.  She expects to hear the results of lab work this week, and asks that we pray for good findings.

Geri Mahaley is recovering at home from a case of pneumonia that was diagnosed on Sunday.  At last report she was doing better.

Ray Markland continues to recover at home from an infection he developed a few days ago.  He also is dealing with painful back issues he suffered during a recent fall.

Bonnie Franklin is dealing with a sinus infection, her daughter Becky Blacklidge reported on Monday.  Remember Bonnie in your prayers.

Carl Cornett, a member of the Northeast Church of Christ in Kingsport who is known to several here at Central, was admitted last week to Mountain Home VA Medical Center to be treated for pneumonia.  He also has undergone surgery since being there.  Carl’s wife Jesse passed away just a few weeks ago.  Say a prayer that the Lord will be with him.

Bible Study Tonight: Bibles will be opened this evening at 7:00 at our building.  We hope you’ll be behind one of those, and that your heart will be filled with the best kind of light.

Readers Are Needed!  Linda Barrette reports that she has only four signed up to read Bible stories on Sunday evenings in 2020.  If you can help with this labor of love, please call Linda or the church office and volunteer to read.

Can You Help?  Someone in the congregation is looking for a reliable vehicle.  If you have one you’d like to sell, let me know and I’ll put you in touch with them.
