Remember These In Prayer:

Ron Tester is recovering from a gamma knife procedure at Johnson City Medical Center on Friday in an attempt to diminish the tumor on his brain.  He was sent home following the procedure, but is to be admitted to Quillen Rehab Hospital, possibly today.

Ray Markland is scheduled to undergo outpatient cataract surgery on Tuesday at Johnson City Eye Clinic.  Say a prayer that all will go well.

Lucy Haggerty is scheduled to undergo an outpatient procedure on Wednesday on her hip; she has been suffering significant pain in that hip.  Our prayers have been requested.

Dave Clark will undergo an outpatient surgical procedure on Friday, and has asked for prayers for all to go as it should.

Chuck Jenkins has been suffering from the flu and from pneumonia, according to Tammy.  She said he has had a difficult time overcoming this.

Jean Waggener, aunt of Jenny Usher, fell on Friday evening and shattered both elbows.  Jenny and Bill have gone to Franklin, TN to help out.

Paul Hamilton was with us Sunday morning, and reports feeling better.  It was also good to see Alison Gilliam with us on Sunday evening.  She reported that she has finished rehab, and is gaining strength.

Pajama Drive Underway: If you can provide one or more sets of children’s pajamas, please bring those to the building before Sunday, January 27.  An area-wide drive is underway to ensure that little ones are warm at night, and your donations of new pajamas, sizes newborn through adult extra large, will help reach that goal.

Generous Help: Several of you responded to the plea yesterday to provide assistance in obtaining personal hygiene items for the men of Unit 5 at the Mountain City prison.  On Tuesday, January 15 Central will host a “New Year / New Life” event for these men, and we hope to shine the light of Christ’s grace upon them.  For this event only we can utilize women or men who are not certified prison volunteers.  If you might be interested in helping, speak with Marshall Danby or me.  Thanks to all of you who help with gifts, service, and / or prayers!

Seminar Approaching: This coming Saturday the Cherokee Church of Christ will host a seminar on “Jesus, The Preacher And Teacher”.  You can see the program information by clicking here.  If you think you may attend, call the church office so we can pass along to Cherokee the number from Central who will attend.

Can I Do This?  *  “Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough.”  (Og Mandino)  *  “Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”  (Philippians 4:11-13)
