“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”  James 4:8

Daily Bible Reading: Mark 13:1-37 (“And you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.)

This Week’s Memory Verse:Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”  2 Corinthians 5:17

Remember These In Prayer:

Jennifer Clark, daughter of Ruth and Mark Boggs, is back at her home in Greenville, South Carolina after being hospitalized again late last week.  She continues to have trouble keeping food down, but is doing better for now, according to Ruth.

Austin Hamilton, son of Rachele and Paul, was with us in worship on Sunday morning.  Pray that he will continue to do well.

Others for whom we’ve been praying who were with us Sunday morning included Jazmine Ryan, Johnny Trent, Sherrell Shepard, Ron Tester, Christa Wright, and Lucy Hagerty.  We also heard through Glenda Danby that Louise Welch is doing much better.  Let’s be sure to thank God for blessing those for whom we pray.

The family of Harold Vonderfecht, father of former Central member Dennis Vonderfecht, is mourning his passing on Friday evening in Omaha, Nebraska.  Pray for God’s comfort to be with Dennis and all of the family.

New Deacons: On Sunday morning John Hutchinson and Mike McConnell were installed as new deacons for the Central family.  John will continue to serve as our treasurer, and Mike will continue to coordinate Monday Night For The Master.  Let these men know that we appreciate their service.

Monday Night Service Tonight: This evening at 6:00 Monday Night For The Master returns.  Come join us for a delicious meal, a brief time of prayer, and simple ways to serve the Lord’s kingdom.

A Disconnect:  *  “I can’t believe what you say because I see what you do.”  (James Baldwin)  *  “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat, so do and observe whatever they tell you, but not the works they do. For they preach, but do not practice.”  (Matthew 23:2,3)
