“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”  James 4:8

Daily Bible Reading: Psalm 119:1-48 (“Make me understand the way of your precepts, and I will meditate on your wondrous works.)

This Week’s Memory Verse:Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.”  James 5:13

Remember These In Prayer:

Angie Smith, daughter of Bandy and Ron Tester, is undergoing tests to determine the nature of some health problems she has been having.  Our prayers for good findings have been requested.

Cade Pollock, 14-year-old grandson of Jenny and Bill Usher, has been found to have a spot on his brain.  He has been referred to a specialist at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for further study and decisions regarding what may need to be done.  Prayers for Cade are requested; he is the son of Kara and Jimmy Pollock.

Kathy Torgerson is scheduled to undergo surgery next Wednesday to repair her eye muscles.  Say a prayer that all will go well and that her eye issues will be successfully resolved.

Charlie Grindstaff will be scheduled for an outpatient surgical procedure in the next few days.  He would appreciate our prayers for all to go well.

Some in our youth group are attending an event in Augusta, Georgia this weekend.  Say a prayer that all will go well, and that their travel home will be safe.

Guannan Zhou, a former FriendSpeak student of Jenny and Bill Usher who has worshiped with us on several occasions, became a father Thursday night.  He and his wife, Fei, welcomed a son, whom Jenny describes as “our first Chinese grandchild!”  Guannan serves as an instructor in chemistry at the University of Virgina-Wise.  Say a prayer that this young family will be blessed.

Tomorrow Is The Lord’s Day!  Take time today to prepare your heart to worship God in spirit and truth.  Be with us in Bible study at 9:15, and in worship at 10:15 and at 6:00.

A Great Seminar!  Yesterday’s R&R Seminar (“Renewed & Reconciled”) at the main annex of the Mountain City prison (NECX) went very well.  About 50 men took part in a study from God’s word about attitudes that will positively affect behavior.  Say a prayer that these efforts will lead many to more closely study Scripture and surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ.

How To Live?  *  “Most people tiptoe their way through life, hoping they make it safely to death.”  (Earl Nightingale)  *  “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going.”  (Ecclesiastes 9:10)
