Central Church of Christ is a diverse congregation of individuals with various skills that are useful for ministry and the furthering of the Gospel in the Tri-Cities area of Upper East Tennessee. Central currently supports several ministries that we would love for you to get involved with. We can use you and you can make a difference in our congregation and our community for the cause of Christ!
Youth and Family Ministry:
Children are precious to the Lord, and they are to us, too. We have on staff a full-time Youth & Family Minister, and many others work to make sure our children are taught God’s word and are provided activities to help them develop in their relationships and learn the value of serving others. View more information here.
College Ministry:
We have on staff a part-time Campus Minister who organizes activities for college-age young adults. 708 Ministries meets together at Central’s building. Weekly devotionals, special activities and service projects, retreats, etc. all combine to help college students have a home-away-from-home.
Dorcas Group
This ministry is an effort by ladies of Central to provide diaper shirts for children in Nicaragua, lap robes for local nursing homes, and other needed items that involve fabric and sewing. Even if you don’t sew, your assistance is valuable in making these projects a reality. The group meets every other Wednesday afternoon. View more information here.
A Food Pantry
Our food pantry is maintained to help those in our community who need this sort of help. The pantry is stocked by donations from members as well as the local food bank. Distribution is done on Tuesdays and Thursdays, as well as certain other special events.
World Bible School
World Bible School and other Bible Correspondence Courses are ways of helping others learn the truths of God’s word. We have students in the United States and in many nations around the world. Volunteers are always welcome!
NewLife Behavior Ministries
This is one of Central’s newest ministry efforts to take the gospel into the community. In 2016 our elders agreed to assume oversight of this effort that teaches life skills to inmates in local state prisons by pointing them to Bible principles. Courses on substance abuse and anger management are being taught, and other courses will be added in the future. View more information here.
