“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”  James 4:8

Daily Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 6:1 – 7:26 (“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.”)

This Week’s Memory Verse:Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.”  (Proverbs 19:17)

Remember These In Prayer:

Skylar Strong, 19-year-old daughter of Judy Strong, is waiting for an appointment with the University of Kentucky Medical Center to be evaluated for a kidney transplant.  She has completed all of the preliminary tests.  She asks that we pray for God’s wisdom to guide the decisions that lie ahead.

Mitchell, grandson of Nada and Everson Weekley, is hospitalized in Huntsville, Alabama after doctors found his ketone levels at a concerning level.  Mitchell has Type 1 diabetes, and his condition will be monitored for at least 24 hours.  Prayers have been requested.

Jan Holden continues to have problems with her eye, but things are slowly improving.  Her doctor thinks it will clear up; she continues on medication.  She thanks all for the cards she has received, and hopes to be back with us in worship soon.

Jazmine Ryan is again dealing with difficult emotional issues.  Megan and Greg ask for our prayers that things will stabilize and that their daughter will enjoy peace.

James Hunt is improving slowly, according to a report from Rebekah last night.  He thanks everyone for their cards and prayers, and is very anxious to get back outside to the work he loves to do.

Roger Witherspoon is spending this week in physical therapy, following a procedure on Friday to break up scar tissue in the knee that was replaced last fall.  Say a prayer that he will regain full use of that knee.

Wes Holsclaw, cousin of Rebekah Hunt, is having serious cancer surgery this morning.  Rebekah asks that we say a prayer for all to go well.

Jim Maupin, husband of Rebekah Hunt’s 97-year-old aunt Betty, is in serious condition in the hospital.  Prayers are requested for him.

Emma Smith, a high school classmate of Rebekah Hunt, is at MD Anderson Hospital in Texas in very serious condition.  She has been undergoing treatments for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma since last fall, but has had other conditions develop since then.  Rebekah asks that we take a moment to pray for Emma.

Mike Powell, brother-in-law of Linda Pierce, is hospitalized at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport after suffering a heart attack.  She asks that we pray for his recovery.

Shelby McNeil, a friend of Linda Pierce, is having a cancer checkup, and Linda asks that we pray for good findings.

Sign Up For The Ladies’ Day: Click here if you’ve not already registered for Central’s Ladies’ Day, to be held on Saturday, April 6.  The numbers are growing, but we want to be sure you are present.

Help Us Prepare For SOS: We’re presently collecting cleaning supplies and personal hygiene items for our distribution on Saturday, May 4.  The list of needed items can be found in last week’s bulletin, which you can see by going to this site.  Leave the bags in the old foyer.  Let’s show the generous love of Christ to our neighbors!

Today:  *  “You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.”  (Abraham Lincoln)  *  “After some days Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish, and he sent for Paul and heard him speak about faith in Christ Jesus. And as he reasoned about righteousness and self-control and the coming judgment, Felix was alarmed and said, ‘Go away for the present. When I get an opportunity I will summon you.’”  (Acts 24:24,25)
