“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” James 4:8
Daily Bible Reading: John 9:1-41 (“Jesus said, ‘For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.’”)
This Week’s Memory Verse: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10
Remember These In Prayer:
Linda Russell will undergo a heart catheterization
today at Johnson City Medical Center. She will later need to undergo
surgery to replace a heart valve; that will be done at Saint Thomas
Hospital in Nashville. Our prayers have been requested.
Dave Clark will begin chemotherapy treatments on Tuesday in Kingsport. He and Gay ask for our prayers that all will go as planned.
Lee Davis is experiencing improved vision since his
recent surgery. He and Carla returned home over the weekend, but were
not feeling well enough to be with us in worship. He will return to
Johns Hopkins Hospital on March 4 to be examined and fitted with new
glasses.
Lucy Haggerty is now at Lakebridge Health Care to
undergo rehab as she recovers from surgery on her leg last week. She
enjoys having visitors; keep her in your prayers.
The family of Jean Hayes, mother of Ann Booton, is
mourning her passing on Saturday morning in Ohio. Pray for God’s
comfort to be upon Ann and her family.
The family of David Sizemore is mourning his sudden and
unexpected passing last week. David was a close friend to Martha
Forbes, aunt of Rebekah Hunt, and to all of Rebekah’s family. She says
he will be missed greatly.
A family member is going through some difficult health
challenges. We prayed for this individual recently, and things are
somewhat better, but there is still some healing to accomplish. Say a
prayer that all will go well.
Another anonymous request for prayers has been received for a family that is going through tough times. The Lord will know the details and how best to help.
Back Among Us: It was good to see Basil Barkley and Josh Jenkins
with us in worship yesterday. We had both of those on our prayer list
last week. Let’s remember to thank God for prayers He answers!
Today’s Holiday: Virtually every day of the year has been designated as a special day by some organization or individual. February 11 is “Make A Friend Day”. That’s one with which all Christians can agree!
When Angry … * “When angry count to ten before you speak. If very angry, count to one hundred.” (Thomas Jefferson) * “A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger quiets contention.” (Proverbs 15:18)
