Worship Roles

Building Open/Close: While our assemblies are being adjusted for COVID-19, the primary responsibility of this role is to make sure the lights are turned off and all doors are locked before leaving the building. The men live streaming Bible class will make sure the building is opened for service.

Greeting/Dismissal: Our shepherds will fill this role which entails greeting our members with a brief thought or passage to set our minds for worship, closing our service with a prayer, reading announcements and closing the service with a word of encouragement.

Closing Prayer (Sun PM and Weds Night): May be done via video or in person. If in person please arrive 10 minutes prior to service and plan on being present with the other 8-10 men who will be leading the services. If submitting a video, please send to centralprofiles@outlook.com at least 15 minutes prior to worship. If the file is too large you may submit through dropbox or google drive.

Song Leader (Sunday AM): If you are asked to lead singing, please make sure your songs are given to Mike Higginbotham at least 15 minutes before worship. You may email them to centralprofiles@outlook.com or hand deliver them to Mike prior to worship.

Song Leader (Sunday PM or Weds Night): Same as Sunday morning, please submit your songs to Mike at least 15 minutes prior to worship. If leading Sunday night or Wednesday night during the live stream please plan on being present at the building with the other 8-10 men who will be leading the services.

Opening Prayer (Sunday AM): This can be completed in person or via video. If submitting a video, please send to centralprofiles@outlook.com. If the file is too large you may submit through dropbox or google drive.

Scripture Reading (Sunday PM): This can also be done in person or via video. If in person plan on arriving at the building around 5:50 and being present with the other 8-10 men who will be leading the services.

Presiding Over Lord’s Supper AM and PM: This must be done in person. The Lord’s Supper is being observed now after the sermon. Prepare brief thoughts to help prepare minds for partaking of the communion. Let people know it is ok to remove their mask for the Lord’s Supper. Remind everyone to remove the film for the bread, and after taking the bread remind them to remove the foil for the juice. The men in the media booth at the back of the auditorium will keep time between the bread, juice, and contribution. Please watch the booth for a signal to start speaking again after the bread and the juice.

Wednesday Night Devotional: Prepare a 5 minute devotional thought and offer the invitation. People may respond to the invitation by emailing Tim Hall, Tim Haywood or Greg Ryan. The email addresses will show on the screen. Plan on delivering this devotional in person at the building with the other 8-10 men leading the services.

Building Security: Check with Dan Bowman for specific responsibilities in this role.

Ushers: In this role you will stand at one of the three entrances to the auditorium. You will remind people to pick up their communion, outlines and bulletins. You may also help families find places to sit while maintaining social distance. You will need to plan on manning this position for the entirety of services. Please plan arriving at the building at 9:50 am on Sunday morning to fill this role.

Temperature Check: In this role you will use our touchless thermometers to take the temperatures of everyone entering our building. If someone has a temperature over 100 degrees, you must recommend they seek medical attention immediately and not enter our building. Anyone in the family entering with someone who has a temperature over 100 will also be asked to attend via streaming for the safety of everyone in the building. You will be assigned to one of the three entrances we are currently utilizing. You will also remind people to wear a mask in the building. If they do not have a mask, you will have masks you can provide them with. Please plan arriving at the building at 9:50 am on Sunday morning to fill this role.

Sanitizer: This role will be responsible for running the sanitizing machine after Sunday morning worship. Please check with Clayton Stewart or Mike McConnell to learn how to use this machine.
