“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”  James 4:8

Daily Bible Reading: John 2:1-25 (“Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many believed in His name when they saw the signs that He was doing.”)

This Week’s Memory Verse:Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.”  Psalm 36:5

Remember These In Prayer:

Lee Davis is at Johnson City Medical Center after being diagnosed with pneumonia and sepsis.  As of Thursday afternoon he was in a regular room, but there has been discussion of moving him into ICU.  Pray for God’s power and comfort to be with both Lee and Carla.

Joyce Hall was discharged from Franklin Woods Hospital on Thursday afternoon, and is now back home.  The symptoms of the cellulitis in her leg are much improved, though she continues to have significant pain in her legs and feet.  She will continue on oral antibiotics for a few days, and then follow up with her primary care physician in about a week.

Ren Rice’s father was to have undergone surgery on Thursday to implant stents following two small heart attacks a few days ago.  We have had no update on how things went, but keep him in your prayers.

Dave Forinash, father of Geri Mahaley, was not doing well at last report.  He has been hospitalized in Charleston, SC for a bacterial infection in his lungs.  His wife Jean is also going through difficult times following the diagnosis of uterine cancer.  Pray for God’s hand of power and mercy to be upon them both.

Aliyah Wilson, newborn daughter of Bryce Wilson, was born on Tuesday with a swollen brain.  She has been suffering seizures, and is in the Children’s Hospital in Knoxville.  Bryce is a student at Southeast Institute of Biblical Studies, and is sponsored by the Abingdon Church of Christ.  He is asking Christians everywhere to pray for his daughter.

The family and friends of Travis Blevins, an elder of the Stoney Creek Church of Christ, are mourning his passing on Wednesday following a battle with leukemia.  The family will receive friends today from 11:30 until 1:30 at the building of the Crandull Church of Christ in Shady Valley, with a funeral service following.  You may view his obituary by clicking on this link.

An Assortment Of Bible Reading Plans can be found by clicking here.  Take a look at the various approaches to becoming a daily Bible reader, and then print out one that looks right for you.  If you don’t have a printer, let us know which one you want, and we’ll print it for you.  Let’s get into God’s word in 2020.

Shoppers’ Tip!  Listed in the bulletin as a needed pantry item is chunky soup.  We noticed yesterday that Kroger has a sale on Campbell’s Chunky Soups at four cans for $5, a very good price.  Let’s help those around us who don’t have enough to eat.

Evidence For The Bible:  *  “The best evidence of the Bible’s being the word of God is to be found between its covers.  It proves itself.”  (Charles Hodge)  *  “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”  (Hebrews 4:12)
