“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”  James 4:8

Daily Bible Reading: Jeremiah 3:1 – 4:31 (“At that time Jerusalem shall be called the throne of the Lord, and all nations shall gather to it, to the presence of the Lord in Jerusalem, and they shall no more stubbornly follow their own evil heart.”)

This Week’s Memory Verse:But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.”  (2 Peter 3:18)

Remember These In Prayer:

Sherry Carden remains at Johnson City Medical Center.  She has learned she is in the early stages of pneumonia, and is receiving IV antibiotics; this may explain the symptoms she has been having.  Say a prayer that she will soon heal and be restored to full health.

Janice Moze is scheduled to meet with specialists on Thursday at The Cleveland Clinic to discuss a heart valve replacement.  Pray for God’s guidance in all that is planned.

Skylar Strong is scheduled to meet with specialists next week at The University Of Kentucky Medical Center to begin working toward the kidney transplant her body needs.  Pray for the Lord to guide all that is done for our young sister.

Ken Bowlin is recovering at home from surgery at Vanderbilt Medical Center on Friday to repair a detached retina.  Melinda asks that we pray for a complete recovery.

Carl Walker, neighbor and good friend of Central, is making a strong comeback as he recovers from pneumonia at Johnson City Medical Center.  He is now alert and feeling better.

Onaway Mulligan, 93-year-old mother of Pat Jones, fell at her home in Georgia on Sunday and crushed her L1 vertebra.  She was to have undergone surgery early this week to repair the damage, and Pat plans to stay with her for awhile.  Pat has asked for our prayers for her and for the whole family.

Vacation Bible School is just days away!  This is a great opportunity to help your children learn truths from God’s word that will guide them throughout life.  It begins this coming Sunday evening, and goes through Wednesday evening.  If you’ve not yet registered your child, go to this site and do it now.  A class will also be offered for adults.

A VBS Work Day will take place this coming Saturday, beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Lots of willing hands will help get everything ready for our best VBS ever.  Speak with Greg Ryan if you need more information on how you can help.  Also start inviting others to attend this great event.

High Rock’s Family Day is also this coming Saturday, from 2:00 to 7:00.  Children ages 6-13 are urged to come to the Duffield, Virginia campground (with their parents and / or grandparents, of course) to get a taste of what a typical day at camp is like.  Bible stories, arts & crafts, games, and a meal will be offered, and adults will have sessions offered for them, too.  Click here to go to High Rock’s web site, where you’ll find more information.

This Is The Day:  * Bad habits are easier to abandon today than tomorrow.”  (Yiddish Proverb)  Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For he says, ‘In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.’ Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”  (2 Corinthians 6:1,2)
