“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”  James 4:8

Daily Bible Reading: Acts 10:1 – 11:30 (“Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”)

This Week’s Memory Verse:And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.” (Colossians 1:18)

Remember These In Prayer:

Brad McFarland, grandson of Becky Blacklidge and great-grandson of Bonnie Franklin, is scheduled to undergo outpatient surgery on Thursday in Knoxville.  Our prayers have been requested for all to go well.

Teresa Marshall, who raises two teenagers who are friends with Skylar Fair, has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.  Skylar and his parents, Jill and Roger, ask that we pray for her as she begins treatments.

Teresa Haywood, mother of Tim Haywood, continues under hospice care at her home.  According to an update from Bill, her husband, on Tuesday night, she is slowly declining.  Keep Teresa and all of her family in your prayers.

Candace Worley, a friend of Carol and Steve Trent, is dealing with cancer, and Carol asks that we pray for her healing.

Let’s Grow Our Souls!  Join many of your Central family this evening at 7:00 at the building as we study God’s word together.  Are you making your soul a priority?

An Often-Asked Question is “Why Do Bad Things Happen To Good People?”  On Thursday evening at 8:00 you can watch a live discussion of this question by sound and knowledgeable brethren on GBNLive.  Click here to go to the Facebook page for Gospel Broadcasting Network.  Invite others to watch the broadcast, too.

More Inmates Granted Freedom: Many of our brethren are involved in prison outreach.  A story at this site tells about four men in an Alabama facility who were recently set free from their sins through baptism.  A video on that site  shows minister Charles Box baptizing these new brothers in Christ.

Daily Sunshine:  *  “What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity.  They are but trifles, to be sure; but scattered along life’s pathway, the good they do is inconceivable.”  (Joseph Addison)  *  “So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.”  (Philippians 2:1,2)
