“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”  James 4:8

Daily Bible Reading: Psalm 88:1 – 89:52 (“What man can live and never see death?  Who can deliver his soul from the power of Sheol?”)

This Week’s Memory Verse:Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise.”  Proverbs 20:1

Remember These In Prayer:

Janice Moze is dealing with difficult symptoms from pneumonia and congestive heart failure.  A heart valve that was replaced several years ago is not working properly, and application is being made to The Cleveland Clinic for a consult.  Janice asks for our prayers, and sends her love and thanks to all who have already sent notes of encouragement.

June Selby was admitted to Franklin Woods Hospital Thursday afternoon after earlier lab work indicated a serious sodium deficiency.  Treatments were administered, and June was discharged to go home on Friday after levels reached a satisfactory level.

Teresa Haywood, mother of Tim Haywood, is now at her home under hospice care.  She continues to be alert and communicating with family and friends.

Johnnie Cripps, father of Tammy Williams, is now back at his home after three months of rehab, following a broken femur suffered in a fall.  Tammy reports that he is able to walk on his own again, and is very happy to be back home.  She writes, “Could you please send thanks to everyone who has held him up in prayer over the past three months?  Their prayers have been most appreciated!!!”

A Call To Worship: God calls His people to come together on the first day of the week to offer worship in spirit and truth.  Let’s respond to that call by preparing our hearts to offer true worship, and by being present for Bible study at 9:15 and for worship at 10:15 and at 6:00.

S.O.S.!!  This morning our “Streams Of Sharing” will begin to flow at 9:00 a.m.  We will need many helpers to greet and assist our neighbors who will come to receive help.  We should be through before noon, but you can leave whenever you need to.  If you can’t be present, say a prayer that the Lord will be honored by what we do and say today.

A Grand Sendoff was seen at our building on Friday morning as Honor Flight of Tennessee loaded another bus full of veterans and their assistants for a trip to Washington, D.C.  You can see photos of the event as well as a brief story by clicking here.

About Sunday Evening: The Honor Flight group will return to our building from Washington, D.C. at about the time evening worship dismisses.  We’ve been invited to help welcome the veterans back home as they get off the bus, and also are welcome to attend their gathering in our fellowship area as they share memories of their trip.  These are special folks who have put their lives on the line for our freedom.  Let’s show we appreciate them.

The Strength To Forgive:  *  “The weak can never forgive.  Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.”  (Mahatma Gandhi)  *  “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”  (Ephesians 4:32)
