“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”  James 4:8

Daily Bible Reading: Matthew 16:1 – 17:27 (“Simon Peter replied, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.'”)

This Week’s Memory Verse:Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.”  Proverbs 16:18

Remember These In Prayer:

Tom Ellis is now scheduled to undergo a heart catheterization on Wednesday, December 26, at 8:00 a.m.  Say a prayer that all will go well for our brother.

Robert Smith has had some difficult days recently.  He continues in hospice care at The Waters of Johnson City, room 170.  He enjoys having visitors; let him know that he is in your thoughts and prayers.

Sherrell Shepard was taken to the ER on Thursday after experiencing chest pains.  Scans and other tests were done, but as of Thursday night nothing pointed to a heart attack.  We are not sure whether he was eventually admitted to the hospital.

Claudette Rhea is slowing recovering following her hip replacement surgery on Monday.  She still has pain from the surgery, but her doctor says all is going as it should.

Annie, 2-month-old great-granddaughter of June and Fred Selby, is recovering well after a fall a few days ago.  Annie’s grandmother, Ena Carol Selby, who was also involved in the fall, is recovering, too.  Fred and June send their thanks for the prayers.

Henrik Kouvas, a young boy who has Down Syndrome, remains hospitalized in Nashville following unexpected complications during surgery last week.

Many of our Central family will be traveling for the holidays.  Pray for God to watch over all while on the roads, and to bring us safely home in due time.

A Year In God’s Word: We hope every member of Central is planning to spend more time in the Bible in 2019.  To assist with your daily reading program, two different schedules have been placed at the Welcome Centers.  Stop by this Sunday and pick up one or both.

Made In God’s Image:  *  “To err is human; to forgive, divine.”  (Alexander Pope)  *  “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”  (Matthew 6:14,15)
