“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”  James 4:8

Daily Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:1 – 16:24 (“Though a sinner does evil a hundred times and prolongs his life, yet I know that it will be well with those who fear God, because they fear before Him.”)

This Week’s Memory Verse:For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself.”  Hebrews 3:3

Remember These In Prayer:

Sue Neeley has asked for our prayers that her health may stabilize.  She has had to receive blood and platelets on multiple occasions in recent months, and would like to be able to be with us in worship more regularly.  She also asks for prayers for her husband, R.E., who is dealing with health issues, too.

Dave Torgerson is continuing to deal with complications from a recent surgical procedure.  Prayers for complete recovery would be appreciated.

Linda Moore is recovering at home after undergoing surgery on Tuesday for a total knee replacement.  At last report she was doing well.

Bitsy Grisham-Ford, mother of former Central member Courtnay Reese, was hospitalized with chest pains on Friday after suffering a stroke the day before.  She is to undergo exams today to determine the nature of these pains.  Our prayers have been requested.

Worship God Tomorrow: The Lord’s Day is an important appointment for all who love God.  Make your plans to be with us for Bible study at 9:15 and for worship at 10:15 and at 6:00.  Ask someone you care about to come with you.

“Digging Deep” Study Tomorrow: The ladies group studying “Digging Deep” will meet tomorrow at 4:00 in the downstairs area of the building.  Tomorrow’s focus is month 11, “His Great Escape”.  See Debbie Ingram if you have any questions.

Can You Help?  The Dorcas Group has sent out this appeal: “Sunday afternoon at 3 pm in lower level, Gals and Guys, to count 42 squares to make a ‘bundle’ to send to Nicaragua. All supplies are provided.”  See Louise Clites if you have any questions.

Deadline Ahead!  If you took one or more Smiles Boxes to fill for poor children of Nicaragua, make sure you have them back to the building by Sunday, August 19 at the latest.  Better still, bring them tomorrow!  This will keep our volunteers from stressing about unreturned boxes.  Thanks to all who are helping with this project!

Faithful Service:  *  “Not the maker of plans and promises, but rather the one who offers faithful service in small matters.  This is the person who is most likely to achieve what is good and lasting.”  (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe)  *  “His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’”  (Matthew 25:21,23)
