Remember These In Prayer:

Sherrell Shepard has learned that the PET scan earlier this week revealed some active areas with the multiple myeloma that has afflicted him in the past few years.  He is being referred to a specialist in Charlotte for further consultation, but is meeting today with a specialist regarding the cervical spine surgery that must be done.  Pray for God’s wisdom to lead those who are working with Sherrell to make the right decisions.

Haley Clark and her newborn son Myles were discharged from Franklin Woods Hospital on Thursday morning.  Both were doing well, and both Josh and big brother Eli were happy to welcome them home!

Ben Crossman, former Central member, has been hospitalized at The University of Cincinnati Hospital after suffering severe headaches and other troubling symptoms.  His condition appears to have resulted from Hashimoto’s Disease, which led to ministrokes.  He is doing better, but continued prayers are requested.

Charlie Grindstaff continues his recovery from surgery and two hospitalizations in recent weeks.  He is staying with his son and daughter-in-law, and sends his thanks for all of the prayers offered for him.

Carol Briggs’ brother has seen his cancer spread to his pancreas, and he is now under hospice care in Arizona.

Evie Koen, young daughter of Heather and Daniel Koen, is scheduled to undergo brain surgery at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital on August 1.  This is an effort to stop or slow the seizures she has been experiencing for most of her young life; she suffers from a rare genetic disorder call glycosylation.  Daniel is the preacher for the Shady Valley Church of Christ.

The family of Freddie Meninno, grandfather of former Central member Vincent Meninno, is mourning his passing on Wednesday evening in Massachusetts at the age of 98.  Vincent and Jana are leaving today to travel to be with the family.

An Area-Wide Youth Rally will take place at our building on Saturday.  Say a prayer that much good will come from this time of fellowship and encouragement.

Cassie Presnell and David Barefield are to be married on Saturday afternoon in a private ceremony.  Ask the Lord to bless their marriage with His rich blessings.

Hope?  *  “The main trouble with despair is that it is self-fulfilling.  People who fear the worst tend to invite it.  Heads that are down can’t scan the horizon for new openings.  Bursts of energy do not spring from a spirit of defeat.  Ultimately, helplessness leads to hopelessness.”  (Norman Cousins)  *  “I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?  My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”  (Psalm 121:1,2)
